The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the City of Macomb, Illinois hereby gives notice of the acceptance of lateral transfers to all eligible applicants interested in appointment to the Macomb Police Department.At time of application, applicants must be at least 21 years of age and no more than 35 years of age; must have high school diploma or equivalent; must have completed 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college; must pass medical and psychological evaluation and background investigation; must have visual acuity 20/20 each eye corrected (minimum) with normal color vision and depth perception; must have good habits and be of moral character. Proof of U.S. Citizenship and if hired, McDonough County residency required. All persons must meet the following criteria to be considered for placement on the alternative eligiblity register pursuant to Publc Act 95-931 effective 01/01/09:
a. Certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board as certified full time police officer; and
b. Previous continuous service as a police officer in the state of Illinois for minimum of two years; and
c. In good standing in the Police Department in which the person currently serves or separated from in good standing with no adverse employment action; and
d. Eligible to be granted a a waiver of basic training from the Illinois law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.
Alternative Eligiblity applicants who have been determined by the board to meet the preceding requirments will not be required to attend the orientation, or take the written examination and physical ability test. Applicants will be required to participate in an oral interview (date to be determined) and will be listed in order of excellence based on their final score as determined by the Board.
STARTING SALARY IS $44,506.43 per year.
