Welcome
to Macomb, the Home of Western Illinois University. You will
find that Macomb is a diverse community, with an interesting blend
of agriculture, industry, service, retail, and education. We like
to think that we have the best of all worlds in Macomb.
You can
visit a wonderfully rural farmers market and experience the excitement
of a major university community, all supported by strong aggressive
industries, a progressive medical community and a broad and varied
retail and service sector.
Located
in the west central part of the state and directly in the center
of McDonough County, Macomb serves as the county seat and has
assumed the position of the regional center for the area by providing
not only retail and manufacturing opportunities, but also by providing
health care, entertainment and culture services as well.
If you
are visiting, I hope you leave Macomb with a positive feeling.
I encourage you to take advantage of our many resources and I
also encourage you to meet and experience our most valuable resource,
the innovative, energetic, caring, hardworking people of Macomb.
For those
of you who are moving to Macomb, we hope you find this community
to your liking. Along with the welcome is a challenge and responsibility
that as a citizen you must also work hard to make Macomb even
better than it is today.
Please
contact my office so we can make your visit or your new home more
enjoyable.
Sincerely,
Mick
